Craig's List...It's not just for Used Cars
The world of blogging was unknown to me at the beginning of 2007. I came from a company that thought a Blog was something that an Exterminator had to take care of. Once you get into the world of Blogging, you see that there is a place for everyone.
The casual Blogger is one that blogs when a thought comes into their head that they would like to share.
The serious Blogger is one that has a following and blogs at least once a day if not several times.
The great thing about Blogging is that you can decide where you fit in and where you want to be. There are people that never ever write their own Blog. They just spend their time reading other Blogs and commenting on them and this is OK!
When it comes to advertising, especially recruiting, I have found great success by using Craig's List here in Orlando. I put a note on my calendar to write a new ad every Monday and to be honest, it gets the brain working. Craig's list was something I became aware of when a customer asked if I could advertise their house on their. Listings stay on Craig's List for 45 days and work their way down to the bottom of the pile.
Homes for Sale, Rentals and for me recruiting ads are able to reach audiences that are on the web. We know that 80% of the people start their search on the web. This is for homes, cars, employment, etc..
From a recruiting stand point, I have found that by using Craig's List, I can almost free form my thoughts and tie it in to Real Estate Recruiting ad. I have had people contact me after posting an ad less than 1 hour after posting it. That is very cool. It is all about striking a nerve with someone and getting them to contact you.
