Training

It's Tax Time...ugh. This is a great time of the year for Realtors to evaluate what you have spent over the last year as well as coming up with a gameplan of where you are going to spend your dollars this year. Tracking is the best way to keep all of your Real Estate Expenses in tact. Whether it is a folder system, drawer or an electronic program like Quicken, it is important for you to have accurate records.

The 1st reason for this is of course being audited. I have never had the pleasure personally but for those that have had, it is not fun. I have also heard good stories of audits where the agent has had all of their receipts and there audit was a very short process as the Auditer could see that they had great bookeeping skills.

My advice is to keep track of everything you spend. Even if it is just a few dollars for a new pen. Why shouldn't you get everything that is coming to you. You can check out what is and is not deductible on www.irs.gov.

Good luck and it probably isn't as bad as you think it will be...maybe.
