Putting Yourself on the Map
Blogging
It strikes me funny when new agents begin their Real estate careers. They come to the profession with many pre-conceived notions and things that their parents taught them. Don't talk to strangers, don't give your social security number to anyone and if you are a single female and you live alone, make your answering message say, "We can't come to the phone!" (My sister actually still has this on her machine today)
In Real Estate, it is all about getting your name and face in front of as many people as possible. A business card works only as long as the person you give it to keeps it. One of the best ways for you to get your name out there is to blog! I was not a believer until I started blogging earlier this year. Since that time, when new agents begin with us at Real Living Real Estate Solutions in Orlando, I conduct classes on blogging and show them how easy it is to get yourself noticed.
We are all looking for something that is inexpensive (blogging is free) and easy to do. A real life example is an agent named Douglas Garbe. Douglas came from the education field and is brand new to Real Estate. He was looking for a niche market and found it in Eco Realty. Going green was his way to take what he loves and knows and parlay it into Real Estate. He started blogging and from zero presence on the web, he know has a huge presence on Google.
Take time to learn the new technology as it will help launch your career and make you an agent who is on the cutting edge.
