Your Career Decision Lies within you
Recruiting
Ask 5 people what they think and you will get 6 opinions. I speak with new agents all of the time or people even thinking about getting their license and they invariably start the conversation with, "I know the market is very bad right now." Whatever happened to the power of positive thinking? Why would anyone go after their Real Estate License thinking that the market stinks but what the heck, I guess I will do it anyway!
People are listening to friends and family who tell them that it is a bad time to get into the market. Hogwash. This is one of the best markets for new agents to enter. In 2004-2006, when new agents were entering the market during the boom, They often got swallowed up by the whole process. There was no time to train, no time to learn and no time to effectively hone their skills of becoming a Realtor. Sure, many made money but they never learned the business. They were order takers and now that the orders have slowed down, these same agents are serving tables and working in retail.
The facts are that yes, there is a meltdown in the mortgage industry, yes, people got in over their heads with homes they couldn't afford and yes it is more difficult to get a mortgage if there are mars on your credit however the facts also state that we have fewer agents practicing real estate and the number of agents that are in the business are the ones who will weather the storm. The facts are that agents are still making money in this business. It is about networking, being outgoing, asking for the business and giving great customer service and follow up. We get customers all of the time who say that their agent never called them back or didn't give them the proper information.
Starting any new career is daunting. You don't have to know it all, you just need to know who or where to go for the answers. This is where the training comes in. Real Living Real Estate Solutions is run by agents who have backgrounds in training. From an excellent corporate program with free web-based training to classrooms and one on one learning, you can't go wrong.
